ceramics and kintsugi
These are hand thrown small vases. I use stoneware and/or terracotta depending on the design/finish.
The original inspiration was English and French vintage stoneware jars. Starting from making their miniature shapes, I gradually changed their designs and started carving the surface.
Made in stoneware with various glazes: Kohiki, Bronze, White, Uraha Green.
Furrow in Snow is a series of tableware and functional object that named after its kohiki finish. I throw the shape on the wheel and apply shinogi (fluted/carved) surface.

This is a series of flat plate/platter and bowls with Nadeshiko (flower Pink) patterns in Mishima style.
It's made in the mix of clay and fired to stoneware temperature.
'Lotus' is a series of plates and bowls made in rough textured clay and beautiful crackle glaze.
The 'leaf' is made hand-moulded with radial shinogi (carved) pattern.
The 'flower' is small hand-moulded bowl with two glazes: crackle glaze inside and dry crackle glaze outside.
Thrown with textured clay mix. The surface resembling the scene of melting water is achieved by layering two glazes with different character.
The collection at the moment (September 15) is cappuccino cup & saucer and bud vase. I am hoping to develop in the series more.
A series of thrown cylinder vases made from mix of stoneware clays, porcelains and stones.
This series has a subtle texture made by brush strokes. Mug, plate.
Cheese platter made with mix of stoneware clay, porcelain and stone.
I use the surface as a canvas to layer slips and glazes to create subtle and intricate surface. Each piece is unique. Size between 25cm and 35cm diameter.

Thrown jug with brass handle. Tansparent glaze inside and matt glaze outside.
Thrown in clay mix of stoneware and terracotta. There are two colour variations: grey black or white. The series at the moment consists of espresso cup, beaker and jug.
The pattern on the underneath of the pot is curved with chisels by hand.
'Mentori' meaning faceted in Japanese describes the curved surface of this series. Thrown on the wheel with a mix of terracotta and white stoneware and faceted with carving tools.
Glaze: Matt White, Shiny Tin Glaze or Black.
My work shown here are one-off pieces, objects, new shapes I'm hoping to develop as a series in the future and the old work I don't make any more.
